A PURPOSE DRIVEN MOVEMENT
The historical and ongoing destruction of Black life and families is a result of systemic racism and oppression. This manifests in poor maternal health care, infant mortality, chronic conditions, and maternal morbidity. Racism perpetuates disparities in care through unjust policies, lack of access, personal bias, medical racism, and inadequate training. It breeds internalized racism, inflicting harm on mental, physical, and spiritual health. It affects how Black individuals navigate the world, view themselves, care for their well-being, and relate to others and the universe.
It's time to stop blaming Black women and families for these injustices. Being Black is not a deficiency; racism is the problem. Our mission is to unveil the truth and confront racism head-on.
